GM EV Cars: U.S. Models From Chevy, GMC and Cadillac

GM EV cars in the U.S. are sold mainly under Chevrolet, GMC and Cadillac. Start with the Chevrolet Bolt for a lower-priced EV, the Equinox EV for an everyday crossover, GMC or Chevrolet for an electric pickup, and Cadillac for a luxury SUV. Cadillac also offers the custom CELESTIQ sedan by inquiry.

Checked November 4, 2026. This guide covers battery-electric vehicles and separates current model listings, special orders and leftover inventory. A model appearing on a brand’s website tells you where to look; it doesn’t tell you what your local dealer can deliver.

Which GM EV cars are in the U.S. lineup?

Use the Chevrolet, GMC and Cadillac U.S. lineups to find the model family, then check the year and configuration in inventory. GMC is one of General Motors’ brands; a search for “GM electric cars” covers more than GMC’s trucks and SUVs.

On a narrow screen, swipe the table sideways to see all columns.

Chevrolet: where to find GM’s lower-priced EVs

The 2027 Chevrolet Bolt is the lowest-priced starting point in this guide. Chevy lists it from $27,600, with 262 EPA-estimated miles and a factory NACS charging inlet. An earlier GM price announcement lists $28,995. Ask the dealer for an itemized quote showing destination and any options so you can compare the totals on the same basis.

Move up to the Equinox EV if your usual passengers and bags need more room. Chevrolet lists 319 EPA-estimated miles for the front-wheel-drive configuration; check the exact rating if you choose all-wheel drive. The Blazer EV gives you another SUV to compare, and the Silverado EV adds a pickup bed. For Chevrolet trim and model-year details, use our Chevrolet electric cars guide.

When shopping the Bolt against the Equinox, bring the same rear passengers or child seats and use the same driving position in both. Price the charging hardware you would actually need at home. A few minutes fitting your own gear can tell you more about the upgrade than comparing maximum cargo figures.

GMC: Sierra EV and the two HUMMER body styles

The GMC Sierra EV guide lists Elevation, AT4 and Denali trims for 2026. GMC quotes up to 478 miles of GM-estimated range for specified Max Range versions. If you need the truck for a regular route, ask for the range on the quoted configuration and check the route with your actual load. That 478-mile figure is not a towing estimate.

The HUMMER EV Pickup has a bed; the HUMMER EV SUV keeps cargo inside the vehicle. Compare how you will carry gear before comparing motor output or advertised range. Check the garage opening, the length available with the door closed and how much space you need to open the doors and use the charging cable.

GMC lists the HUMMER EV ICON | 25 with expected availability in early 2027. Keep that limited edition separate from a 2026 HUMMER on a dealer lot. Confirm the year and charging port of the vehicle you can actually buy.

Cadillac: choose the seating layout before the trim

Start with OPTIQ for a smaller two-row luxury SUV and LYRIQ if you want another two-row option with more room to compare. The 2027 VISTIQ adds a third row; Cadillac’s U.S. page lists a starting price of $77,500. If you need a full-size three-row SUV, compare ESCALADE IQ with the extended-length ESCALADE IQL and check the space behind the third row with the seats raised.

The CELESTIQ is a commissioned electric sedan, sold by inquiry rather than as a typical inventory SUV. Also watch the name on the window sticker: ESCALADE IQ and IQL are the electric models. A listing that says only Escalade does not establish which powertrain it has.

What happened to the Chevrolet BrightDrop van?

BrightDrop 400 and 600 were electric delivery vans under Chevrolet. GM confirmed the end of BrightDrop production in October 2025. If you find one listed, check the VIN and whether it is leftover stock or used. For fleet use, confirm service support and charging at the depot before committing. It belongs in a commercial comparison rather than a passenger SUV shortlist.

Which GM EVs need an adapter at a Tesla Supercharger?

Start with the actual charging inlet. The GM charging guide identifies the 2027 Bolt and 2026 Cadillac OPTIQ as examples with factory NACS, the North American Charging Standard. GM lists many other 2026 vehicles, including the Equinox EV, Sierra EV and LYRIQ, as needing an approved DC fast charging adapter to use eligible NACS stations. The model year matters even when the badge looks the same.

Check station access and the correct hardware before traveling. A CCS-equipped vehicle using a NACS fast charger and a native NACS vehicle using a CCS fast charger need different adapters. At home, match the vehicle to your AC charging equipment and check the manual; don’t assume a DC adapter will work with a wall charger. Our EV connector guide explains the difference.

If you already have a home charger, bring its model and plug details when you shop. If you need a new installation, use your usual mileage and time parked to size it with our home EV charging guide. A qualified installer can check your electrical supply before you buy equipment.

A practical cross-brand shortlist

Illustrative example: A household drives 35 miles on a busy weekday and sometimes tows a camper on a 180-mile weekend route. A Bolt or Equinox could be a good commuter, while an electric pickup may make sense if the same vehicle must handle the trailer. Compare the cost and convenience of those two jobs separately before choosing.

  1. Test the everyday fit. Park the crossover and pickup in the same spot. Try your regular passengers and gear in both.
  2. Compare the loaded trailer and payload. Use the ratings and payload label on the exact truck. Account for people, cargo and trailer tongue weight; don’t use a range or tow rating from another battery or trim.
  3. Plan one real charging stop. Check station access, the plug or adapter and whether there’s room to pull through with the trailer. Pick a backup you could reach with a comfortable reserve.
  4. Get a written quote on each candidate. Record model year, VIN or order status, trim, battery, destination charge, dealer fees and included charging equipment. Compare the cars you can actually get, with the features you’ll actually use.

If a used EV would cover the daily driving, the used EV buying guide can help you check the battery, charging equipment and remaining warranty before signing. For a highway trip, our EV range guide explains why speed, weather and load change the miles you get from a charge.

Where to start with GM EV cars

Start with Chevrolet if the price and everyday fit matter most, compare Chevrolet and GMC if you need a pickup, and move to Cadillac if the cabin or third row justifies the price. Whichever GM EV cars make your shortlist, check the model year, battery, charging inlet and delivery status on the specific vehicle before making a deposit.
